Boeing moves Everett, S.C. 787 execs

Boeing Co. said it’s named Jack Jones its new vice president and general manager of its South Carolina operation.

Jones had been vice president of Boeing’s Everett Delivery Center, overseeing operations for Boeing (NYSE: BA) wide-body models (747, 767, 777, and 787) that are assembled in Everett. He’s had that job since October 2003.

He’s replacing Tim Coyle, who’s heading to Everett to become operations leader at Boeing’s Aviation Technical Services facility, which is responsible for modification and completion of early production 787 planes.

“While he will be missed, Tim’s detailed operations background and experience in large-aircraft modifications will be essential in his new leadership position on the 787 program,” said Ray Conner, vice president and general manager, supply chain management and operations, Boeing Commercial Airplanes, in a statement.

In South Carolina, Boeing is fabricating, assembling and installing systems for the aft fuselage sections of the 787 and is joining and integrating 787 mid-body fuselage sections.
