Seattle is ninth on Parenting Magazine's list of the "best cities for families" list.

The magazine touts Seattle's "mild and perfect" weather, 5,500 acres of parks, the state's Family Medical Leave act, and its literacy. Washington, D.C. tops the magazine's list. Seattle rose from No. 28 last year.
